Fifth Blog: Landscape Photography - Ocean
"The color intermediate between green and violet, as of the sky or sea on a sunny day."
This is the definition of the color blue. For as long as I can remember, blue has been my favorite color because it's the color of the ocean. So, it's evident that ocean photography is one of my favorites. Today, I would like to share some tips to take fantastic ocean photographs with all kinds of blue hues.
1. Choose a fast shutter speed or take screenshots of a video
The ocean is as vibrant as animals and rarely stays still. To capture a moment of moving subjects, use a fast shutter speed. It will let you take a clear picture of beautiful waves. However, if you take a picture with your phone, you may not have that option. In this case, I recommend you to first take a video and take screenshots of moments of your choice!

2. Consider the horizon
When taking a picture of the ocean, the horizon is an important factor to consider. The horizon will decide the overall composition of your photographs. Decide what element you want to take a large portion of. Also, make sure the line isn't tilted as it will ruin your work.
3. Study the details
People tend to solely focus on the vastness of the ocean and often miss the amazing details. I recommend you to take a deeper examination. You will be able to see different textures, colors, and elements. Then, capture the details. They are worth it.
In photography, using water and reflection is a great tool to take creative photographs. At the beach, with sand soaked in water, it will automatically create the reflections you would like to take a picture of. Capture the reflections of the sky, ocean, sunset, stars, and more.
